MECHANICAL ENGINEERING:

The Mechanical Engineering department of Government Engineering College, Kozhikode is having excellent teaching faculty with most of them holding PhD and with a rich experience for delivering outstanding technocrats. The students and the faculty of the department also interact closely with the industry through internships, projects and research associations and hence keep in touch with the latest trends in the industries. Subjects like Composite material, Marketing Management, Finite Element Methods, Computational Fluid Mechanics, Flexible Manufacturing Systems, Mechatronics, Non linear Dynamics and Chaos, Inventory and Supply Chain Management, Quality Engineering and Management, design of Jigs and Fixtures etc make its really interesting.

CHEMICAL ENGINEERING:

This vibrant department has a bunch of excellent faculty and facilities that form its backbone. It has one of the best laboratory facilities in South India in the field of chemical engineering. Subjects like High Polymer Engineering, Petroleum Refinery Engineering, Unconventional Separation Processes, Plant Utilities and Industrial safety, Biochemical Engineering, Industrial Pollution Control, Process Modeling and Simulation, Computer aided Design etc makes it on the topspot.

CIVIL ENGINEEERING:
The Department has a rich history in providing the best possible education to the most diverse group of students in terms of racial, ethnic, and economic background. Recent improvements have elevated the Department into a prominent position among institutions of comparable size. Subjects like Structural analysis&design, Geotechnical Engineering, Transportation engineering, Surveying, Hydrology and water resource engineering and Environmental engineering makes it the real. Our civil engineering department acts as a consultancy for structural designs of various PWD works. Many of the landmark structures of Calicut city has been designed by our civil engineering students. Last but not the least, our colleges new multi storey building have been designed by our civil engineering students.

FACILITIES:
We have well equipped labs with instruments like Total Station, UTM and some of the major softwares like Auto CAD, STAAD V8I.

APPLIED ELECTRONICS & INSTRUMENTATION:

Govt Enginering College, Kozhikode is one of the only two government colleges in Kerala to have a B.tech course on AE&I. This course emphasis on electronics and instrumentation with expertise in industrial instrumentation. Subjects like Biomedical instrumentation, Signal processing, Embedded systems and applications, VLSI design, computer aided process control & Robotics and Automation makes the subject more interesting. The college also has well equipped electronics and instrumentation laboratories for students.
